Level Up Your Creativity This Summer!
In this exciting full-day workshop, you will go behind the scenes to learn how classic pixel game art is actually made! Using free, beginner-friendly software, we will guide you step-by-step as you design your very own characters and bring them to life with simple animations. No prior design experience is needed—just bring a big imagination, and we’ll provide the rest!

What will you learn?
Our course is split into 4 modules as we progress throughout the day
Module 1
Get our creativity flowing by playing some pixel/design related games. Then pixelise your name to develop your artistic style!
Module 2
Now we are going to get technical! We’ll learn a bit about colour theory and why some colour combinations look better than others. Then put it into practice by constructing a palette to create cool pixel art assets.
Module 3
In this module you will bring your creations to life with an animated pixel character. You will learn about layers and frames to make your process fast, repeatable, and get the final result you want!
Module 4
Incorporate your assets into a simple interactive game or a short animated movie to show off to your parents when they come to pick you up!
Students will need bring a packed lunch and a water bottle
Snacks and drinks will be provided throught the day
